Ethics, Social Commitment & Entrepreneurship
Our mission is to support EELISA communities in strengthening ethical values and interpersonal competencies to address global and local societal challenges in cooperation with social agents, through interdisciplinary activities which are both curricular and co-curricular initiatives.
We believe that to achieve EELISA's vision of linking academic excellence with social impact, it is essential that university education meaningfully integrates ethics, social responsibility, social commitment, personal and interpersonal competencies.
Our strategy aims towards an university training that:
- provides the fundamentals of ethics and professional responsibility, human rights, and sustainable development,
- fosters a critical and reflective attitude towards the role of technology, the professionals and other stakeholders involved in today's social challenges,
- instils a proactive and innovative attitude to face them, contributing to the improvement of society, the development of common goods, the full exercise of human rights and the empowerment of people,
- provides the personal and interpersonal competencies to address societal challenges in cooperation with social agents through interdisciplinary activities.
What can you do with us?
Participate in:
- training initiatives on basic and fundamental competencies, which provide tools to participate in transformative projects in EELISA communities or other contexts,
- events for reflection and analysis on the global challenges and their relationship with our role as a technological university, from a practical approach through working on real problems.
What kind of people/stakeholders are we looking for?
Students who are interested in strengthening personal and interpersonal competencies to participate in EELISA communities and projects.
Faculty and institutions that are interested in engineering education for sustainable development, engineering ethics, social entrepreneurship and soft competencies.
What activities are we offering to participants?
Our initiatives are framed both in formal teaching - courses, academic internships, or capstone projects - as well as in non-formal teaching, through participation in co-curricular initiatives carried out with external partners.
