Crowdsourcing and Championship against disinformation
The spread of disinformation and misinformation has become a complex social challenge that can negatively affect health, climate, environment, economy and institutions.
Helps us to overcome this challenge by participating in this SSERIES activity organized by four EELISA universities (École des Ponts. ParisTech, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität, Istanbul Teknik Üniversitesi and Universidad Politécnica de Madrid). You can start by filling the registration form in a few minutes and we will contact you shortly with more information.
You can participate into this activity by any of these two actions:
1) Feeding a database of news classified by their verified level of veracity.
In a crowdsourcing process, each person should look for at least 5 news linked to sustainability and information enough to check their level of veracity, uploading all this onto a web platform through a suitable online form. Faculty members will curate this info. This can be done from December,1, 2022 to March, 7, 2023.
2) Participating in an intercampus teams championship against disinformation: in March, 23, 2023, the teams would attend the championship in person at their own campus to connect online with the rest of the participants. Students should register themselves in teams of 3 people (until February, 28, 2023) to participate in this debate league in which they develop their arguments to convince about the level of veracity of certain news.
Check here the rules of the Championship!
There will be an awards ceremony for the March 23 championship winning teams to be held in Madrid, in April 2023, as part of an international “Summathon” to be held in Madrid, on April 21 and 22, 2023. Moreover, a new face-to-face edition of the championship will be celebrated on April 22, as part of the Summathon.
This Summathon will be a joint event with other two EELISA activities organized by SSERIES. In this way, it will be a good occasion to meet other EELISA people and to explore future collaborations.

And if you are an EELISA student, this opportunity to combat disinformation and to gain an EELISA credential signed by the EELISA alliance of european universities is waiting for you!
