Sustainable Air Transport
There are many requirements involved in running airports and airlines. They include reducing costs and environmental impacts (noise, air quality, and climate impacts), while boosting resilience and, of course, safety.
The community will focus on research on sustainable air transport, e.g. identified methods for reducing impacts of air transport on the environment. For example, within our research we address the usage of sustainable aviation fuels (SAFs) aiming to reduce the quantity of greenhouse gases released throughout the fuel's lifecycle, from manufacture to combustion.
We will also study the impact of climate change on the air transport infrastructure.
The main actions deployed within the community will be workshops, webinars and summer schools.
